    ‘Tis The Season

VOX Creative is in full holiday swing. The outer door to the printer room has become the place we display cards full of well-wishes sent from friends and business contacts, (it’s beginning to fill). Clementines grace our main entryway table. Even our door has gold and red ornaments hung from ribbons. The trees on Pierpont Avenue are wrapped in lights.

This picture is from earlier in the month, from the SOMOS Gala- an event that truly kicks off the season. 40 scholarships worth nearly $250,000 were given away this year in partnership with the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. VOX loves this annual event because it embodies a spirit of hope, giving, and warmth… which is what the season is all about!

    Day of the Dead

VOX Creative knows that any event in the Rico Brand Warehouse is going to be packed, fun-filled, and include delicious food. For the annual Dia de los Muertos event on Friday November 5th, the guests were well-fed and the point of the evening was to make sure thatfamilies going through hard times in Salt Lake go through the winter with food on the table. Entrance fee was $10 or ten cans of food, and all proceeds went to the Utah Food Bank. The night was adorned with a huge altar, sugar skulls, tall potted cacti, a roasted pig, votive lights, and piano music with a dissonant edge to make the atmosphere complete. VOX Creative’s team was in attendance, and dazzled at such a compassionate and glamorous event.

    Que Te Pasa, Calabaza?

VOX Creative would like to let out a final evil laugh a-la Thriller this morning in celebration of an excellent Halloweekend. Creativity was running high, both in the office and on the street. Visits from vampires seemed commonplace, and a hippie sat answering phones. Our favorite costume was a cluster of grapes, played fruitfully by a child of the office wearing purple balloons and purple stripe tights. It seemed an appropriate reminder for all year round that branding requires getting completely in character and using a consistant voice. Our clients know that VOX is comitted to each and every one of their causes and that we won’t hesitate to gut a pumpkin with our bare hands or break out the fake blood to prove it.

    Look How You’ve Grown!

El Observador de Utah has just completed their 100th edition, which makes VOX Creative swell with pride. We knew that Utah needed a news source that could keep Spanish speakers in Utah informed and entertained, and the niche has been filled. Ever since the launch party February 9th, 2010, El Observador de Utah has been on the door step of the office three times weekly. We are proud of their growth, their impact, and are proud to support them into the future to the 1,000th issue, and beyond. Read the article in the Deseret News HERE. To Produce a Bloom

VOX Creative has been gearing up for the Latinos in Utah Book, Volume II, for months and  finally the pieces are coming together. Let’s just say for how secretive we have kept all those about to be highlighted, that the final product will display them as proudly as possible. This is also the case with a purple orchid that graces our office. It shed the flowers it posessed and took a hiatus from being flashy for a month. While we were wondering if it would ever return, it was storing up the nutrients and ingredients needed to make a big comeback. Much to the delight of all those who work at VOX, one day our beloved plant had bloomed anew. Our blog took a deep breath while we worked long and hard on a sequel that is sure to compliment the original book, and shine as brightly as each individual featured… some day very, very soon.
